Your First Taste of Neil Young & Crazy Horse’s ‘COLORADO’ is Here

So far, so good, Neil.

Fifty years since their first ride on Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere, Neil Young and Crazy Horse are back in the saddle.

Their first album since 2012’s epic Psychedelic Pill—almost certainly Neil’s best album this decade—was recorded mostly live in the high rockies of Telluride, Colorado, and is appropriately titled, Colorado. (As a proud native of the state, this adds a weird level of excitement.)

The first single, “Milk Way,” is a swirling and delicately restrained six-minute star-gazer with some serious echoes of “Cowgirl in the Sand.” It’s not hard to imagine the fuzz rock legends launch this one into one of their sprawling half-hour suites, when they take it on tour next year.

Colorado drops October 25 on Reprise.
