I’m thankful for Dookie by Green Day, because it soundtracked my coming out.
I remember hearing “Coming Clean” for the first time, and it giving me the courage to tell some of my friends that I’m gay, and, from then on, I listened to a little bit of the album every time I came out to somebody new to get me in the right mindset.
Without this album I might still be living in fear of my friends, my family and myself, but Dookie helped me to leave the closet and finally feel comfortable inside of a new me.
